#BALDURS GATE ENHANCED EDITION, HOW DO I REMOVE A PARTY MEMBER CODE#
Right now we're hip deep in code and pixels making awesome." "For years we've wanted to continue our journey on Baldur's Gate, and now after months negotiations we get to do just that. However, Edmonton-based Overhaul Games's site let the cat out of the bag: The official Baldur's Gate site featured a countdown for noon PDT, but was getting hammered from curious fans. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is coming and Faerun will be alive again this summer. with Beamdog rep comment.Īll my fantasizing about a return to the Sword Coast has been rewarded.
If you want to Dual Wield be sure to put some pips into 'Two Weapon Fighting' which will reduce these penalties.Update 2: 1:29 p.m.
Lastly dual wielding gives Thaco penalties for both the main weapon and the offhand weapon(offhand being worse). You shouldn't use weapons that you haven't put a proficiency in as you will struggle to land a hit. When you level up and put a pip in a weapon or a weapon style these will increase your chance to hit and other things like how many times you attack per round. If you are using a ranged/melee weapon like Throwing Axes and Throwing Daggers unless they changed it it should use Strength when it's used melee and Dexterity when thrown(you can change these weapons to be melee or ranged at the item description) The bonuses kick in at 16 for a -1 adjustment to Thaco and increase the higher it gets. Melee weapons get adjustments the higher your strength is and Ranged weapons the higher your dexterity is. There are also items that give certain bonuses against certain enemy types.Ībility scores can affect Thaco too. A +1 weapon will often not only give a small damage increase, but a bonus to hit, so your THACO goes down. The basic TLDR though is, decrease your own AC, and increase your to hit. So 16-5, so you just need a 9 or better roll, so now you have a 50ish percent chance. Your natural THACO has probably improved to like 16 or so. Now say you're a warrior and you're 5 levels later. So you effectively have a 25 percent hit chance against that enemy. 20-5 means you need the game's dice rolls for your attack to be 15 or higher in order to hit an enemy. So at level 1 IIRC everyone's THACO is like 20. You will start off with a high THAC0, and improve it with armor and levelling bonuses from classes. To hit a target, it takes your THACO (chance to hit) and rolls against the enemy's AC (armor class). In simplest terms, you want your armor, or AC to be low in these games, rather than high, and you want as many + chance to hit items as possible, especially early on. So i guess my recomendation for a first time players would be Stlaker, assassin or archer. Might not be the best pick for first time players.Īssassins are really good at killing enemy spell caster right at the start of the fight by backstapping them, after that you would need spells or postion to be invivsble again for another backstap. The former requieres a lot of micromanagement, because thier thing is attack, then hide in shadow again before starting another attack.
Shadowdancer and Assassin are both mostly about backstapping, but assassin also have poisons whihc makes them usefull even after most bosses in ToB get immunity to backstaps and SD get some sweet abilties by that point as well. Swashbukcler is kind of like a fighter/thief that can also take care of locks and traps.Īlthough that's kind of redudant, because if you play the game for the first time, you should let imoen take care of that or a guest character replacing her for the time she leaves your party.
Stalker are bascailly Fighter/thief with a few spells but not thief skills.Īll 3 thief subclasses are good. Later you can get some really cool arrows, such as arrows of dispelling. Downside is you will need a ton of arrows. Ranger has archer, which is really strong in SoA, but drops of a bit in ToB. Click to shrink.Default ranger and thiefs are a bit meh, so I would recommend looking to subclasses.
